APU-11 is a new catalyst that upgrades pygas/reformate to BTX, providing an alternative route to solvent extraction processes. For the APU-11 catalyst, Zeolyst developed a shape selective zeolite catalyst suitable for converting pygas or reformate to produce enriched BTX and LPG. The process can be accommodated by modifying a semi regen fixed bed reforming unit or a typical hydrotreater in the refinery without additional equipment.
