Refining

Zeolites are widely used as catalysts in the refining of crude oil into finished petroleum products.

Because of their high selectivity, zeolite catalysts are often the most efficient and cost-effective method for a number of refinery conversions, particularly in upgrading refinery streams into high quality fuels and lubricants. Zeolite’s unique properties make them well suited to be tailored for specific applications.

Zeolite-based catalysts are used in various refining processes ranging from Fluid Catalytic Cracking, Hydrocracking, Dewaxing, Specialty Conversion, and Product finishing.  In integrated petrochemical-refineries zeolite based processes can be used in refining operations to make specific chemical feedstocks and intermediates.

Zeolite-based catalysts are used in many refining processes as their unique properties can drive significant benefits such as improved yields, greater selectivity towards desired products and better efficiencies.
